We started out for some din din at Dolce Vita. We dined on the outside patio, and it was really quite pleasant....even for a Houston night! I love to go out to eat with my girlies because we always just end up picking a few things on the menu, and then eating it all family style. This way we all get to try a lot of things, and we usually don't overeat to the point where we have to be rolled out of the restaurant. I even ate calamari tonight that wasn't fried....and it was yummy!! I'm so growing up each and every day. Ha!!!
Special surprise for the evening was that Corey joined us. She's got two little ones now, and so it's harder for her to get out. I've visited with her at her place, but hadn't had a night out with Corey in quite a while. So...it was fantastic that she was able to come for dinner! :)
After our delicious meal, Corey went home to get a nice, well deserved, night of sleep. Her hubby gave her the night off from waking up on baby duty......go Joshua! :) If she had stayed with us for the rest of the night....the hours of sleep would have been less for sure!!
Next stop was The Flat.....this off the beaten path little spot off Waugh....but it was a total gem. The inside was not very big, but very cozy, and had a DJ spinning. Mindi and Becky joined us too. We hung out to kill some time here for a while, and then decided to meet up with some other friends at another spot.
So, when Lora and I were in Park City for Sundance....on night 2, we met Justin from NY and Neil from DC at our hotel, and ended up hanging out with them the rest of the time there. Turns out that Justin was in Houston visiting a friend of his, Brent, and we definitely wanted to say hello....so, Jennifer went home, and the rest of us headed to Ibiza Lounge where they were going to be that night.
What a FUN night! We found Justin and Brent a little bit after we got there, and enjoyed their company...with bottle service....3 bottles of champagne.....and danced the night away. It was so weird that Justin was in Texas....it was his first time here, and it was so cool that we got to see our friend again. We might be brewing up some plans to meet up again soon, but we'll see if they come to fruition. It'll be a great story if they do.....so I'll keep it a secret unless it happens. :)
What an awesome night - I had SO much fun, and can't wait for Saturday night - might be hard to top!!! We hit up Whataburger on the way home.....the second #1 with a coke for me for the day.....I can eat that stuff all the time. I just can't WAIT for the tomato ban to be lifted...burgers just aren't the same without them!
